Update Regarding Fashion Island Hotel and Hotel Irvine
June 29, 2021
When Fashion Island Hotel and Hotel Irvine closed last spring due to COVID-19, our team began exploring potential options to reimagine these properties that are such an important part of our community.
Our research has revealed an opportunity to strengthen the future success of the hotels by identifying a world-class hotelier to reopen and operate the properties. The new operator will likely be a premier hotel brand with national and international expertise to meet the changing needs and expectations of travelers and local guests.
Although we are still finalizing the details and preparing to launch our search for an operator, here are some key points we can share about the planned transition:
- Irvine Company, which is structured to operate in perpetuity, will retain ownership of the land and enter into a long-term lease with the premier operator. This is similar, in many ways, to our agreements with major department stores.
- Irvine Company will continue to maintain first-class standards over how the hotels are operated.
- The coastal Resort at Pelican Hill, which remained open during the pandemic as a benefit to the community, will not be impacted in any way and will continue to be operated by Irvine Company.
The hotels are special properties in our community — hosting events, corporate meetings and traveling guests. Aligning with a premier hotel brand reinforces our commitment to providing exceptional service and memorable experiences for all our guests. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
